Applied Plasmonics & Photonics Lab (APP-Lab)
Research Interests
We are working in the area of plasmonics and nano/micro photonics. We are an experimental group, whose approach is to first design and optimize the nanophotonic structures using simulation tools and then fabricate the optimal structures/configurations for various applications, primarily in the fields of chemical/bio-sensing and absorption windows. Here are some topic-wise explanations
SERS/SEF
We are working on SERS/SEF based sensors utilizing nanostructured plasmonic configurations such as ESPs/LSPs/ESP-LSP coupling, metasurfaces, etc.
EOT
Extra-Ordinary Transmission is a plasmonic phenomena in sub-wavelength nano-metallic structures. We are working on plasmonic meta-surfaces utilizing this phenomenon for biosensing applications
SPR/LSPR/LMR
We are also specialized in Propagating and Localized Surface Plasmon Resonance (SPR and LSPR) based Sensors on both the prism and optical fiber based configurations. The performance of fiber optic sensors has been improved by novel designs.
